Bad Left Hook, citing The Ring’s interview trail, reported the planned September Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch has been postponed amid lawsuits, contract conflicts and the claim that “the same fight was double sold.” Earlier, The Ring reported CSI Sports sued Mayweather and sought an injunction tied to advances for Tyson/Pacquiao-related events.
The rematch was always a commercial artifact more than a sporting need. But once the business story becomes more interesting than the fight, the nostalgia premium starts to rot.
