Inoue-Bam is inching from fantasy into calendar talk
The small-men super-fight keeps gaining shape, and the timing is everything.
BoxingScene reported that Naoya Inoue's promoter has alluded to a major February fight, strongly hinting at Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez. Earlier BoxingScene analysis framed the fight as newly richer after Bam moved up and stopped Antonio Vargas at bantamweight.
This is the sort of pound-for-pound matchup boxing usually waits too long to make. Inoue is still the monster at 122; Bam is climbing with momentum. The risk is obvious: one more interim fight, one more weight conversation, one more delay, and the sport talks itself out of the cleanest version.
Do they make the fight while it feels dangerous and fresh, or does boxing begin the familiar process of over-marinating something already ready?
Inoue-Bam is still reported calendar talk, not a signed fight.
