Dubois-Wardley sounds like a recovery fight with a trap door
On paper it rebuilds Dubois. In the ring, Wardley's chaos is exactly the kind of thing that can ruin neat plans.
The Ring reported Dubois-Wardley talks for October, with Rook's August 7 scan adding a working October 17 date and Manchester venue expectation from The Ring's public post. Bad Left Hook also picked up the report in its Thursday roundup.
British heavyweight business loves a domestic collision, but this one matters because Dubois has to prove the Usyk defeat did not hollow him out. Wardley is crude in places, dangerous in others, and willing to make a bad-looking fight. That is not a tune-up.
Dubois needs composure and authority. Wardley needs disorder. Whoever gets his version of the fight first probably gets the October story.
